EKET FESTIVAL
The Eket Festival was birth in 2021 represents our avowed commitment to effectively harness the enormous Cultural/Tourism assets in Eket Local Government Area into a basket of export oriented products enroute the world tourism market.
The Festival is the continuation of our bold efforts at exploring and exposing the abundant natural endowments and invaluable cultural heritage in our land to attract national and global attention, endorsement, patronage and investments.
With EKET FESTIVAL, we hope to create wealth, empower our communities, grow our local economy, boost the Council’s Internal Generated Revenue profile and build stronger bond of brotherhood amongst the people of EKET in particular and the adjourning Local Government Areas in general.
THE ECONOMIC VALUE
INFRASTRUCTURE:
With the event and its sustainability, Eket Festival, brings an out-burst of tourism infrastructure to the Local Government Area from tourism/hospitality investors, etc.
REVENUE:
EKET FESTIVAL shall also bring revenue through the sales of our home grown produce, arts and crafts which is one area our state is yet to generate foreign exchange earnings.
DIVERSIFICATION:
Attraction of Foreign and Local investments into Eket to boost the local economy. It is our hope that this event will attract visitors who will in turn spend money within the days of the festival thereby boosting the local economy
JOB CREATION:
Within these days, Eket Festival shall create employment and job opportunities for our people who will be gainfully engaged during and even after the duration of the festival.
LEARNING NEW THINGS:
The event shall expose the huge tourism potential that abound in Eket Local Government Area on the one hand, and on the other hand, open up sustainable means of livelihood for the numerous youthful population in the Local Government Area.
